Audio Matrix Units
In situations where the demodulated off-air radio signal must be routed to a an operator console or land line, the audio matrix is used to make the path.
Data Routing
The RR1092A routers are set to route the RS232 serial data links between the operators console and transceivers. The routing path for the data is often parallel to the audio routing and therefore a flexible, high capacity switching matrix is a convenient facility.
In order to increase the efficiency of the system, a facility to include data flow control (RTS/CTS) can be included in the data content to be routed.
Push-to-Talk Signal
In situations where a push-to-talk signal from the microphone is separately routed to the transmitter, the routing system must accommodate this facility. The RR1092A can provide this feature.
